The correct answer here is Root cause analysis because the solution has been in operation for 3month. Risk analysis is used if the solution is yet to be implemented. It is a proactive measure while RCA is a reactive measure.

Answer A. is correct: BABOK v3 8.1.6 • Risk Analysis and Management: used to identify, analyze, and manage risks, as they relate to the solution and its potential limitations, that may impede the realization of potential value.

The purpose of Assess Solution Limitations is to determine the factors internal to the solution that restrict the full realization of value. 8.3.2 Description Assessing solution limitations identifies the root causes for under-performing and ineffective solutions and solution components. Assess Solution Limitations is closely linked to the task Assess Enterprise Limitations (p. 177). These tasks may be performed concurrently. If the solution

In the question, the BA already did the RCA, so it's not B. Answer A. is correct: BABOK v3 8.1.6 • Risk Analysis and Management: used to identify, analyze, and manage risks, as they relate to the solution and its potential limitations, that may impede the realization of potential value.

Section 8.3.6 Risk analysis and management is correct answer. Root cause analysis is about finding underlying causes that led to the solution being unable to deliver it's potential value. This question is about not achieving full potential value

Agree. If the scenario did not mention that the solution was in production/operation and the BA did not find instances that impacted the level of quality, then B would be an obvious answer. I guess one needs to unpack the circumstances of the scenario to apply the correct option.

Ans. B Root Cause Analysis. Already the BA has used ACCEPTANCE AND EVALUATION CRITERIA to find several instances where the outputs from the solution are below par and the question now asks; What technique should the BA use to identify the solution limitation(i.e. poor quality outputs from the solution). Now you carry out problem analysis AKA Root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes that lead to the solution not being able to realize its potential value. Remember, the BA can apply a combination of techniques to IDENTIFY and INVESTIGATE the solution limitations. BABOK V.3 8.3.4

Why not acceptance criteria. The solution is performing below an acceptable quality. Acceptance criteria helps identify any criteria not.met by solution.

In addition to identified problems, business analysts assess risks to the solution and potential limitations of the solution. This risk assessment is specific to the solution and its limitations. Answer A. is correct: BABOK v3 8.1.6 • Risk Analysis and Management: used to identify, analyze, and manage risks, as they relate to the solution and its potential limitations, that may impede the realization of potential value.

ANS is B BABOK V-3 8.1.6 Measure Solution Performance – Root Cause Analysis (186=pg.176) Root cause analysis is a systematic examination of a problem or situation that focuses on the problem's origin as the proper point of correction rather than dealing only with its effects. It applies an iterative analysis approach in order to take into account that there might be more than one root cause contributing to the effects. Root cause analysis looks at the main types of causes such as people (human error, lack of training), physical (equipment failure, poor facility), or organizational (faulty process design, poor structure). Root cause analysis helps organize the information in a framework, which allows for deeper analysis if needed. Root cause analysis can be used for: • Reactive Analysis: identifying the root cause(s) of an occurring problem for corrective action, or • Proactive Analysis: identifying potential problem areas for preventive action.
