Selected Answer: C
As others have said below, there's really no mention of WHY it should be B. This answer is wrong. It should be compromise/reconcile. They bring some degree of satisfaction to all parties for a temporary or partial resolve of conflict.

Selected Answer: B
The technique that the project manager should use in this case is B. Smooth/Accommodate. This technique involves playing down differences while emphasizing common interests. The project manager should aim to create a temporary or partial solution to the conflict that satisfies all parties to some degree. This approach may be appropriate when the issue at hand is not critical and when there are time constraints.

Smooth/accommodate. Emphasizing areas of agreement rather than areas of difference; conceding one’s position to the needs of others to maintain harmony and relationships. Compromise/reconcile. Searching for solutions that bring some degree of satisfaction to all parties in order to temporarily or partially resolve the conflict. This approach occasionally results in a lose-lose situation.
