Discovery always uses probes and sensors during the first two phases of discovery: scanning and classification. For the last two phases, identification and exploration, Discovery can use probes and sensors or patterns. So it would be CDE - Patterns, Probes, and Sensors

I think it's A C D Probes collect information about the device and send it back to the sensor to be processed. So the sensor processes but does not collect. https://docs.servicenow.com/en-US/bundle/utah-it-operations-management/page/product/discovery/concept/c_DiscoveryProbesAndSensors.html
