It cannot be C. As per the document below, a logical configuration backup doesn't store chassis, FEX, IOMs, blade/rack servers information. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-manager/GUI-User-Guides/Admin-Management/4-2/b_Cisco_UCS_Admin_Mgmt_Guide_4-2/m_backup_and_restore_configuration.html

I'd say B, full configuration: ''You can use the file generated from this backup to restore the system during disaster recovery. ''. Other files cannot be used for system restore. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-manager/GUI-User-Guides/Admin-Management/4-1/b_Cisco_UCS_Admin_Mgmt_Guide_4-1/m_backup_and_restore_configuration.html#task_D97990B1ED0F4BCB8469D5A671774B5D But the issue is that in the question it is mentioned that the XML encoding shold be used, and the full sate is binary.... Even here the Full state is mentioned : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-central/install-upgrade/2-0/b_Cisco_UCSC_Install_and_Upgrade_Guide_2_0.pdf

Could be either C or D but I think I will vote for C Configuration Logical—Backs up up all configuration information but not AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) related information. Configuration System—All AAA-related information.

Import Methods You can use one of the following methods to import and update a system configuration through Cisco UCS Manager: Merge—The information in the imported configuration file is compared with the existing configuration information. If there are conflicts, the import operation overwrites the information on the Cisco UCS instance with the information in the import configuration file. Replace—The current configuration information is replaced with the information in the imported configuration file one object at a time.

Only logical configuration will backup configurations Logical configuration—An XML file that includes all logical configuration settings such as service profiles, VLANs, VSANs, pools, and policies. You can use the file generated from this backup to import these configuration settings to the original fabric interconnect or to a different fabric interconnect. You cannot use this file for a system restore. If you choose system configuration it will backup user accounts, labels etc. Beside only option C have "replace" as a method which we need to use for this task.

To accomplish the task of backing up and restoring the Cisco UCS Manager configuration with XML encoding on a remote server, the engineer should perform a logical configuration backup and run the replace import method. This will include the configurations of the chassis, FEX, rack servers, IOMs, and blade server and store them on the remote server in XML encoding

niulf, yes, It is binary, but only full state is used for restore. Other types cannot be used for restore. So either the questions is incorrect, and instead the XML should be bin in the question , or there is no correct answer
